The final product - complete with security gate and fence system!

The project began with a site visit to assess an aging wooden walkway and dock along the river. Shortly afterward, Hurricane Irma struck the Vero Beach area, destroying both structures and leaving a debris-strewn shoreline with only remnants of the old seawall.

Following a major cleanup effort, J. Meade Construction along with the owners worked closely with engineer Todd Smith, P.E. through a challenging six-month permitting process. Approvals were secured from the Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Indian River County for a comprehensive redevelopment plan that included a new concrete seawall, an upland seating area, fencing with security gates, and a new boat dock with lift. The upland property was also restored to a clean, elevated condition to match the new seawall.

Construction proceeded in phases: the seawall was completed first, followed by the dock and lift using premium materials and skilled workmanship. The final step involved designing and permitting electrical and water utilities, which required routing lines under the Jungle Trail road right-of-way from the landside to the riverside.

The result was a fully transformed waterfront property that maximized its potential and approximately doubled its original value.
